PWW Celebrates Two Decades of Service
Today Page, Wolfberg & Wirth (PWW), The National EMS Industry Law Firm, celebrates two decades of service to the EMS industry. For the last twenty years, the firm has been a legal and educational resource for EMS agencies, billing companies, public safety agencies and others related to the provision of emergency medical services and pre-hospital care in the United States.
On January 20, 2000, Jim Page, Doug Wolfberg and Steve Wirth founded the first law firm in the country devoted exclusively to EMS law. PWW is now the nation’s most trusted source for EMS legal and consulting services. “We are grateful to be serving and contributing to an industry that we have both been in since we were kids as EMS volunteers and to have been accepted by that industry,” says Founding Partner Doug Wolfberg.
Only four years after founding the firm, Jim Page passed away unexpectedly. The firm still proudly bears his name and honors his legacy. “The ideals practiced by Jim of being responsive, giving practical advice and building good relationships are still the basis of our firm today,” notes Founding Partner Steve Wirth.
PWW’s first twenty years have been filled with innovation and change. The attorneys and consultants of PWW have developed high quality products such as the Ambulance Service Guide to HIPAA Compliance, HIPAA TV 2.0, The Ambulance Compliance Program Tool Kit, the all-new 360 Revenue Cycle Guide and more. Page, Wolfberg & Wirth is viewed as the preeminent resource for ambulance compliance education through webinars and as sought-after speakers, educators and presenters at EMS events nationwide.
Shortly after the firm began the abc3 (Ambulance Billing, Coding and Compliance Clinic) was launched and continues to grow as the abc360 conference. Offered in four locations across the country each year, the abc360 conference is the nation’s leading revenue cycle, compliance and leadership conference attended by thousands of EMS professionals.
PWW serves EMS clients across the United States offering education, legal and consulting advice. To become more accessible to its clients, PWW recently launched the PWW Client Connect program allowing clients to pay a flat monthly rate for included services instead of receiving hourly bills.
The biggest change in the firm’s history occurred in October 2018, when Dan Pedersen and Ryan Stark were named managing partners of Page, Wolfberg & Wirth, the first-time the firm has added new partners. Steve Wirth enthuses, “One of the best things we’ve done over the years is to make good hiring decisions. We’ve created an amazing team at PWW”. Doug Wolfberg agrees, “When I look at our entire staff together, that’s when I feel like we’ve been successful”.
